U.S. Green Building Council Louisiana Chapter Names Its First Executive Director

news — Sun, 11/29/2009 - 19:00

The U.S. Green Building Council Louisiana Chapter, a nonprofit committed to promoting the principles and concepts of green building practices in the State of Louisiana, announced today the appointment of its first Executive Director, Cindy Stanley.

“The USGBC LA Chapter requires a dynamic and experienced leader who can build on our success and momentum in the built environment” said John Anderson, the chapter Chair. “Following an extensive nationwide search, we have selected Cindy based on her energy, vision and passion. She also brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with her from her past experience as the Executive Director of the USGBC North Texas Chapter in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area.”

Cindy joins the Louisiana Chapter with a background in nonprofit management, business development and fundraising. She comes to Louisiana with a working knowledge of USGBC’s core values and principles and a proven track record of successful relationships with the National organization. Her strong commitment to sustainability in the building industry will be an asset to the ongoing efforts of promoting sustainable design, construction and reconstruction in the state of Louisiana.

“I am extremely honored to accept this position as the chapter’s first executive director, and I am excited about the opportunity to work with business and community leaders to further sustainable building practices in the state of Louisiana,” said Cindy Stanley. “We have a lot to do and I’m looking forward to meeting those who are showing and want to show their leadership in advancing sustainable building principles and environmentally responsible practices that improve environmental protection, economic development, and social equity for everyone in Louisiana.”
